Dacusville Yarn Works is a group of ladies who love to crochet, knit, or loom together once a week to create yarn items for the community and fellowship with one another. We have yarn and some supplies that have been donated to our classroom. We can teach you the basic stitches and get you started on a project. All this is free of charge.

Our most recent accomplishment was to create approx. 700 hats and scarves and deliver them to a local elementary school in Pickens County. Every student in the school receives a hat or scarf of their choice. The group chooses an elementary school each year to do this for just before Christmas break. We have done this project for years, donating to Ambler Elementary, Liberty Primary School, Dacusville Elementary, Croswell Elementary and several others.

We make blankets for babies to teens to donate to the Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, lap blankets for Meals on Wheels recipients, as well as donating to various nursing care facilities in the Pickens County area.

If you love to yarn, but you have nowhere to donate your hand-crafted items, please consider donating them to be given to one of the groups listed above.

Dacusville Yarn Works meets every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 in Room 6 of the Dacusville Community and we invite everyone who knows this craft or wants to learn to join us. We would love to have you. Feel free to contact Frankie Lawson at 864-395-5044 if you have any questions regarding our group and check our Facebook page.
